MINDWIRE

Mindwire is the first in a trilogy. Life is changing fast. In an authoritarian society where mass surveillance is the watchword, the drive to mechanise everything — including people — is strong. Some might call this evolution, but what vital aspects of life are destroyed in the process? And what opposing forces will be roused to counter this totalitarianism? The Mindwire Trilogy imagines what would happen if this fierce storm of mechanisation continued. The story starts with Charlotte, a young girl in a psychiatric hospital whose mind has been shattered by her covert intelligence work for the Mindwire program. Aided by psychologist Paul Clark, Charlotte has to fight to recover her memories and confront the system on all levels. In The Sibyl, a growing underclass of psychically developed individuals  — the sibyls — are beginning to be hated by society and hounded by the authorities. But the sibyls may be the last chance people have to resist total control. Mythic catapults the reader into a bigger picture. We begin to see that there is no option but revolution, as the sibyls take on the authorities with the help of Paul Clark’s daughter, Charlotte. Drawn reluctantly into a fight for freedom, Charlotte finds herself at the mercy of the authorities. As systems fall, the world will never be the same again.

Carl Sampson Author of the MindWire Trilogy.
